We are seeking an experienced and proactive Deputy National Placement Coordinator to support and strengthen the delivery of high-quality student work placements across our campuses and industry partners.

About the Role

The Deputy National Placement Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, compliance, and continuous improvement of student work placements across multiple campuses and delivery locations.

Working closely with placement teams, academic departments, industry partners, and operational stakeholders, the role ensures students receive meaningful, compliant, and industry-relevant placement experiences that support successful transition into the workforce.

The role is based in Melbourne and may involve travel between campuses and engagement with placement providers.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Placement Coordination and Operations

  • Coordinate and support timely student placement allocation and commencement
  • Assist in developing placement schedules aligned with course delivery requirements
  • Monitor placement progress and proactively address operational challenges
  • Support contingency planning for placement availability and workforce demand

Student Support and Readiness

  • Ensure students are appropriately prepared for placement requirements
  • Support orientation and compliance processes
  • Monitor placement outcomes and provide support for at-risk students
  • Promote positive student engagement and placement experiences

Industry and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with placement providers and industry stakeholders
  • Support the development of new placement opportunities and partnerships
  • Conduct provider engagement activities and site reviews where required
  • Collaborate with academic and student support teams to improve placement outcomes

Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Support compliance with applicable regulatory, organisational, and industry requirements
  • Maintain accurate placement records and reporting documentation
  • Assist with audits, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure placement processes remain transparent, ethical, and accountable

Team Leadership and Reporting

  • Support placement team performance and operational consistency across campuses
  • Contribute to reporting, data analysis, and operational improvements
  • Foster a collaborative and professional team culture
  • Assist senior management with placement performance reporting and operational insights

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience in student placement coordination, workforce planning, education operations, or related fields
  • Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and relationship management capability
  • Understanding of compliance and quality assurance requirements within education or workforce settings
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and campuses

Desirable

  • Experience within the VET, healthcare training, or clinical placement sector
  • Experience supporting multi-campus operations
  • Knowledge of applicable education regulatory frameworks and standards
  • Data reporting and performance monitoring capability

  • This role is primarily campus-based in Melbourne
