Job Description

About the Role

IHNA is seeking an experienced and motivated Placement Coordinator to take a leadership role in sourcing, organising, and managing clinical placement arrangements for IHNA students across our Perth campus. This is a dynamic opportunity for a registered nurse who is passionate about education, student success, and building meaningful partnerships with healthcare facilities. You will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with healthcare providers to secure high-quality clinical placement opportunities
  • Oversee placement agreements and learning contracts, ensuring full compliance with program standards and requirements
  • Plan and coordinate facilitator orientations at placement facilities to ensure readiness and consistency
  • Communicate facilitator schedules and visit details to all relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Proactively identify and resolve placement-related issues in collaboration with Course Coordinators and the Campus Manager
  • Deliver pre-placement orientation sessions and provide ongoing on-call support to students during clinical rotations
  • Work closely with academic staff to ensure clinical placements align with curriculum objectives and intended learning outcomes
  • Ensure all assessments and student assignments are marked in accordance with IHNA policies and procedures
  • Maintain full compliance with ASQA, and all relevant regulatory requirements governing clinical placements
  • Prepare and submit monthly performance reports and actively participate in performance review meetings with management

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications (Essential)

  • Current and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA (mandatory)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Nursing
  • TAE40110/TAE40116/TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or equivalent/updated qualification (essential)

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years’ recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) (mandatory)
  • Experience working within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) environment (desirable)
  • Demonstrated administrative experience within an education or training setting (highly regarded)

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
  • Sound understanding of ASQA and ANMAC standards and regulatory requirements (desirable)
  • Knowledge of industry best practices relating to student clinical placements
  • Proficiency in database systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with academic staff, clinical facilitators, and external stakeholders

  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months) or willing to apply for one
  • Working with Children Check or willing to apply for one
