Job Description

About Role:

The Clinical Facilitator is responsible for supervising and supporting students during their clinical placements in alignment with the RTO standards  and  ASQA. This role ensures that students are provided with quality workplace-based learning that meets industry, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. The facilitator acts as a mentor, bridging theory and practice, while maintaining compliance with IHNA’s policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.

The role contributes directly to student success and retention by creating a safe, supportive, and industry-relevant learning environment.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Nurse Educator leads academic delivery in the Diploma of Nursing program, guiding student learning, assessing assignments, conducting simulated and clinical assessments, and collaborating with students, support staff, and educators under the supervision of the Course Coordinator.

Your role may include:

  • Supervise and mentor students during clinical placements, providing coaching, feedback, and ensuring adherence to professional, ethical, and safety standards.
  • Deliver and facilitate clinical training in line with the approved timetable, Training Package requirements, and adult learning principles, while supporting diverse student needs.
  • Monitor and support student progress against competency requirements, maintain accurate placement documentation, provide timely feedback on performance, and escalate any concerns to the Course Coordinator.
  • Ensure compliance with ASQA, ANMAC, AHPRA, ESOS, and other regulatory requirements, while actively engaging in professional development, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with educators, clinical sites, and IHNA staff to deliver quality placement experiences, uphold IHNA’s values, and contribute to student engagement and retention.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Nursing
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Current and unrestricted AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Incumbent of this position is required to maintain the vocational currency and provide evidence of the same to Human Resources, throughout the period of their employment.

  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 6 months) or willing to apply for one
  • Working with Children Check or willing to apply for one
