Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team. The Financial Accountant will oversee profit and loss, revenue, debtors, prepayments, expenses, and agent commissions. This role is critical in maintaining the financial health of the organization and ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely reconciliations and compliance with accounting standards and regulations of the organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
Prepare statutory accounts and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Assist in internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and ensuring timely resolution of audit queries.
Post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Monitor updates in financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements, adjusting internal processes as needed.
Conduct monthly account reconciliations, identify and rectify discrepancies, and ensure the integrity of financial data.
Maintain updated financial ledgers and ensure error-free audits.
Create and improve processes and procedures.
Desired Skills and Experience
Skills and Knowledge
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Qualifications
Chartered Accountant qualification or equivalent
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Minimum 3 years of experience in financial accounting in a Big 4
Demonstrated experience in preparing statutory accounts and supporting audits.
