Trainer/Assessor, School of Allied Health and Human Services, IHNA

About Role:
The Trainer/Assessor at IHNA delivers high-quality training and support to students, fostering motivation and success. They collaborate with course coordinators to design, refine, and evaluate course materials, ensuring ongoing improvement. All efforts adhere strictly to standards and regulations set forth by ASQA, ANMAC, and other relevant regulatory bodies. This commitment to compliance and quality enhancement creates an environment conducive to effective learning and student achievement.

The Trainer/Assessor is expected to perform the following along with additional duties as required to meet the requirements of the role:

  • Deliver dynamic lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions, fostering an inclusive environment for active student participation, critical thinking, and providing constructive feedback to support academic and clinical progression.
  • Efficiently coordinate simulations and clinical placements and conduct regular supervision, guiding students in applying theoretical knowledge to practical clinical settings for a comprehensive learning experience.
  • Implement fair assessment strategies, continuously monitoring and evaluating educational programs to enhance effectiveness and provide recommendations for ongoing improvement.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance teaching and clinical skills.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other educators, students, and external partners to ensure a smooth and efficient learning experience.
  • Collaborate with the curriculum development team to develop learning resources, assessments, and other materials to support the delivery of high-quality education.

Desired Skills and Experience

 

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Vocational competencies at least to the level of qualifications delivered
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122)
  • Must have evidence of recent VET and Industry PD activities;
  • In-depth understanding of ASQA regulatory guidelines and standards (highly desirable).

Please note successful candidates are required to have the following checks:

  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 6 months) or willing to apply for one.
  • Working with Children Check or willing to apply for one.
