About the Position 

We are seeking a highly motivated and eager People and Culture Coordinator to join our growing P&C department. Operating Monday to Friday from our office in Perth, you will be responsible for supporting the broader organisation in a range of human resource initiatives and projects and assist with day-to-day activity involving onboarding, employee experience, recruitment, learning and development and policy implementation. Reporting into the People and Culture Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for those who are passionate about people and looking to gain experience in all HR functions. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of new HR initiatives and systems. 
  • Coordinating onboarding processes, including preparing orientation materials, conducting orientation sessions, and ensuring new employees have necessary equipment and resources. 
  • Maintain HR records and systems, including personnel files, benefits administration, and payroll data. 
  • Assist with employee performance management processes, including goal setting, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions. 
  • Assist with recruitment processes, including job postings, resume screening, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Provide support to employees with HR-related inquiries, including policy interpretation, timesheet and leave requests.
  • Coordinate training and development activities, including identifying training needs, scheduling training sessions, and tracking attendance and completion. 
  • Assist with employee relations issues, including investigating complaints, mediating conflicts, and recommending appropriate resolutions.
  • Keep up to date with relevant laws and regulations related to HR and ensure that policies and practices are compliant. 
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to support organisational goals and objectives.

Skills and Knowledge

  • A passion for improving workplace culture with prior experience in a human resource function being highly regarded but not essential. 
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse stakeholder group. 
  • Ability and knowledge on how to handle and respond to confidential information. 
  • Good technical skills with the ability to navigate, learn and improve systems and ‘ways of work. 
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to self-manage and prioritise competing tasks.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot problems independently and escalate problems when appropriate.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree with specialization in Human Resources or Business
  • Minimum 3-year experience as Human Resources Officer/Advisor role.
