Position Overview
IHM is seeking an experienced and motivated Course Manager – Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing (GCAN) to join our School of Nursing team.
This senior leadership role combines academic leadership with industry engagement and program growth responsibilities. A successful candidate will lead strategic direction, quality assurance, and ongoing development of our Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing while fostering strong partnerships with healthcare providers, professional nursing organisations, and industry stakeholders.
This role will be instrumental in enhancing student outcomes, supporting academic excellence, driving enrolment growth, and strengthening IHM's reputation as a leader in postgraduate nursing education.
Desired Skills and Experience
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead academic management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of our Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing.
Oversee curriculum development, assessment design, moderation, and course reviews to ensure academic excellence and compliance.
Ensure alignment with TEQSA, AQF, AHPRA, NMBA, and other relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Recruit, mentor, and support specialty nursing academics, clinical educators, and sessional staff.
Promote innovative teaching approaches, including simulation-based learning and digital education.
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with hospitals, health services, aged care providers, and professional nursing associations.
Represent IHM at conferences, seminars, industry forums, and networking events.
Collaborate with marketing and admissions teams to support domestic and international student recruitment initiatives.
Lead webinars, information sessions, and stakeholder engagement activities to promote our program.
Monitor student progression, retention, engagement, and satisfaction, implementing strategies to enhance student success.
Support our Graduate Certificate to Master of Nursing pathway and contribute to broader institutional growth objectives.
Prepare reports and recommendations for academic governance committees and senior leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
Current Registered Nurse registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with no conditions or restrictions.
Postgraduate qualification in Nursing, Health, Education, Management, or a related discipline (Maters essential, doctoral qualification preferred).
Demonstrated experience in academic leadership within higher education, healthcare, or professional education settings.
Experience leading teams, managing projects, and driving organisational or program growth.
Strong understanding of higher education quality assurance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
Proven ability to establish and maintain industry partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated commitment to student-centred education and continuous improvement.
