The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lecturer in Social Work to join our School of Social Work at IHM's Melbourne CBD campus. This is a full-time, on-campus role where you will play a central part in shaping the academic experience of Bachelor of Social Work students — inspiring, mentoring, and equipping them with the knowledge and skills to make a real difference in their communities.
What You'll Do
Deliver engaging, high-quality lectures and tutorials to Bachelor of Social Work students
Develop and prepare comprehensive teaching materials for both on-campus and online learning environments
Facilitate interactive, inclusive, and student-centred learning experiences
Monitor and support students' academic progress, providing timely and constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum design, course review, and ongoing educational innovation
Participate actively in scholarly activities, professional development, and the broader IHM academic community
Desired Skills and Experience
What We're Looking For
Master's degree in Social Work (essential)
Demonstrated experience in teaching Social Work or a related discipline in higher education
Proven ability to develop and deliver educational materials for both on-campus and online learning environments
Strong skills in curriculum design, educational planning, and innovative teaching methodologies
Proficiency with digital learning platforms and educational technologies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and engage students effectively
Commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to social work education scholarship
Current eligibility to work in Australia and willingness to work on-site in Melbourne, VIC
