Job Description

The Role

We are seeking a Human Resource Manager to lead HR strategy, employee relations, and workforce development across IHM Australia. This role will partner with executive and senior leaders to deliver best-practice HR frameworks, ensure Fair Work compliance, and strengthen organisational culture in a regulated education environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end HR operations
  • Drive HR strategy, workforce planning, and organisational development
  • Provide expert advice on Fair Work Act, NES, Awards, and industrial relations
  • Coach and support leaders in performance management, underperformance, and capability development
  • Manage employee relations, performance management, grievances, and investigations
  • Lead talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies
  • Deliver learning & development, engagement, wellbeing, diversity & inclusion initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with TEQSA, higher education standards, and internal policies
  • Manage HR systems, reporting, and people analytics
  • Partner with leaders on change management and capability uplift

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications

  • Masters in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline
  • 7–10+ years’ HR leadership experience
  • Strong expertise in Australian employment law & industrial relations
  • Proven experience in higher education, healthcare, or regulated sectors
  • Demonstrated success in employee relations, policy development, and compliance
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capability

Please note successful candidates are required to have the following checks:

  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 6 months) or willing to apply for one
