About the Role:
The Placement Coordinator at IHM is responsible for ensuring that all work placement arrangements for courses offered at the designated campus are effectively organized and scheduled in alignment with the course requirements. This role involves leading the efforts to source and establish suitable agreements with placement centers for students of Health Careers International (HCI) and the Institute of Health & Nursing Australia Pty Ltd (IHNA). The Placement Coordinator must fulfill the role’s responsibilities in compliance with clinical placement expectations and guidelines set by ASQA, ANMAC, TEQSA, the Department of Education, Skills and Employment, the Department of Health, and ISO standards.
Main duties and responsibilities include (not limited to):
Ensure 90% of students are successfully placed in clinical settings within 6 months of course completion.
Establish new partnerships with external organizations for placement opportunities annually.
Achieve a 90% retention rate of clinical placement partners year-over-year.
Maintain 100% compliance with regulations and standards for clinical placements in healthcare education.
Attain an average rating of 4.5/5 or higher in student satisfaction surveys on placement quality.
Provide pre-placement guidance to 95% of students, with 90% reporting satisfaction with preparation and support.
Facilitate quarterly meetings with academic and clinical staff, achieving 85% stakeholder satisfaction on placement outcomes.
Ensure 98% accuracy in assessing student qualifications, skills, and competencies for suitable placements.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
registered Nurse with current and unrestricted registration with AHPRA
Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Nursing.
TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher (desirable).
Vocational competencies at least to the level of qualifications delivered or units of competencies or/and any other requirements as stated in the relevant training package.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience of current professional work experience and coordination skills is required
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong organisational and communication skills
Awareness about the requirements of the various regulatory bodies such as ASQA, TEQSA, and ISO standards
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for student placements
Proficient in database management and Microsoft Office suite
