Job Description
Senior Lecturer contribute to the teaching, learning and related academic development activities of IHM as well as developing scholarship, research, and professional activities relevant to their specific Nursing discipline specialisations or interests. Through strong academic support and knowledge, lecturers liaise with students, support staff and other academic colleagues to maintain excellence in teaching, engagement, and support within the Institute. Senior Lecturers also contribute to scholarly curriculum development and are proficient in teaching, tutoring, and clinical facilitation.
Desired Skills and Experience
Duties & Responsibilities:
Undertake teaching and assessment of postgraduate students
Undertake scholarship and research activities
Provide input into the development of new teaching resources
Supervise students undertaking projects
Participate in team projects and various committees as required
Refer students to personal and academic support services relevant to their needs
Monitor learning and identify students requiring support
Attendance at IHM meetings as required
Essential Criteria:
PhD qualification in a relevant discipline or an equivalent.
Advance HE Fellowship is desirable
Relevant teaching qualifications in higher education is desirable.
Professional Registration in the relevant discipline, as applicable
Clinical experience in a relevant discipline.
Previous teaching experience, preferably in higher education is desirable.
Relevant experience in curriculum quality and reviews in a tertiary environment is desirable.
