About Role:
The Clinical Simulation Officer at the Institute of Health & Management (IHM) plays a key role in delivering immersive learning experiences. They manage simulation equipment, coordinate realistic clinical scenarios, and support students in developing critical skills. This role enhances practical training, ensuring high-quality education for future healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with lecturers and course coordinators to plan and communicate lab session timetables to students.
  • Maintain lab records, including attendance and inventory registers, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Oversee lab setup, hygiene, maintenance, and procurement of necessary equipment.
  • Manage lab expenses, negotiate supplier agreements, and implement cost-saving measures to reduce wastage.
  • Ensure simulation scenarios align with curriculum objectives and achieve at least 90% student participation.

Qualifications

AQF Level 5, bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medicine, Health Science, Biochemistry, nursing, etc).

Experience

  • Several years of experience in simulation education or a related healthcare field
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and facilitating simulation scenarios for healthcare professionals.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in using simulation technologies and software
  • Familiarity with and adherence to relevant regulatory standards, such as NPAAC in Australia.
  • Knowledge of healthcare practices and patient care procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to adopt and integrate new technologies enhance the simulation experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address challenges.
  • Ability to analyze and assess the effectiveness of simulation scenarios and make improvements
